SOUR METHI DAL Recipe

INGREDIENTS
1 cup fenugreek leaves, chopped
½ cup tur dal
A pinch of turmeric powder
A pinch of asafetida
½ cup tamarind juice
¼ tsp salt

For Seasoning
½ tsp ghee
½ tsp mustard and cumin seeds
¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
2 red chillis, broken into pieces

METHOD
1. Mix the fenugreek leaves, dal, turmeric powder, asafetida, tamarind juice and salt with a little quantity of water. Pressure cook.
2. Now heat the ghee in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients.
3. Stir in the cooked dal, mix the contents thoroughly and cook for few more minutes.
4. Serve hot with rice or chapatti.
